The Lent Term at Marlborough College begins today, the first term of the College's 150th anniversary year. Mrs Anna Hallam (English) and Mr David Orr (Classics and RE) join the teaching staff. Charles Tuke-Hastings (Barton Hill) becomes Senior Prefect; Nicholas Brown (Cotton House), Captain of School; Nicola Whittle (Morrish House), Captain of Lacrosse and Vanessa Buckley-Sharp (Summerfield), Captain of Netball. Confirmation by The Right Rev John Bickersteth will be on Sunday 28 February. Club Day will be on Sunday 7 March, when the Penny Reading will be a performance of Guys and Dolls. The 150th anniversary Choral Concert on 14 March will be a performance of Handel's Messiah. Exeat is from 12 to 16 February and the term ends on 19 March. Forthcoming events in celebration of the 150th anniversary include a gala ball at the College on 10 July and a Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul's Cathedral on 1 October.
