Ruby Rose denies tweet about internet bullying is about Taylor Swift

And says it is in response to her partner's mother being trolled online

Ruby Rose has denied her posts on social media about bullying were in response to the ongoing feud between Taylor Swift and Kanye West and Kim Kardashian-West.

On Monday, the Orange is the New Black actress and DJ shared a series of tweets denouncing internet trolling and bullying after her partner's mother was subjected to online abuse.

Sharing a note explaining how she deals with abusive messages, Rose wrote: “The Internet/social media has endless possibilities, positive possibilities, but more often than not it's a sad place."

Rose shared the note around the same time the internet was catapulted into a frenzy after Kardashian-West uploaded a series of video clips showing her husband, West, discussing his single “Famous” with Swift, following months of back and forth between the two parties over a controversial lyric in the song and the continued debate as to whether it was approved by Swift or not.

Due to the high level of social media interest in the Swift/Kardashian/West debacle (Taylor Swift is still trending on Twitter 24 hours later) and the fact Rose is friends with Swift, recently featuring in her 4th July party Instagrams, some Twitter users immediately interpreted Rose’s tweet to be defending Swift.

Responding to one social media user who wrote: “You a part of Taylor Swift white feminist rescue squad too? Damn I liked you." Rose replied:

I just think we could do so much more if we were not so judgmental and mean to one another.I believe love is what the world needs right now.

Rose, 30, also shared a tweet she posted the day before asking internet trolls to leave members of her family and friends alone, saying she posted it after her new girlfriend Hayley Gusman's mother received abuse online.

“So no, it’s not subliminally about someone else,” she wrote. “It’s for me, for anyone who needs it and because I feel strongly about bullying/trolling.”

Selena Gomez, Chloe Grace Moretz and Khloe Kardashian were among those who did appear to wade into the row between Swift and the Kardashian-West's. The Snapchat story is the latest development in the on-and-off, seven-year feud between West and Swift and shows West reciting the lyrics: “For all my southside n****s that know me best/ I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex" to Swift, who replies by thanking the rapper for running the line past her.

In response to the Snapchat yesterday, Swift issued a statement on Instagram saying the video does not prove she approved the line: “I made that bitch famous”, a lyric which in the song follows the lines West was heard reciting to Swift in the audio. The lyric which Swift is continuing to deny she approved was not featured in the audio recording of their conversation. The "Shake It Off" singer also accused the married couple of “character assassination” and claims she has been "falsely painted as a liar when I was never given the full story or played any part of the song”.
