The 18-year-old posted a video with the title “looking for houses” on Instagram on Tuesday, after he was allegedly kicked out of his home.
The rapper, real name Keith Cozart, was about $30,000 (£18,000) behind in rent payments, according to court records seen by the Chicago Tribune.
It is the latest in a series of legal disputes for the artist, who was arrested for allegedly pointing a gun at a Chicago police officer in 2011, the newspaper reported.
He signed his first record deal in 2012 and released the album Finally Rich.
His single, "I don't like" was described as the "most-hyped hip-hop release of the year" and but predictions that the rapper would be launched into the mainstream proved premature.
Chief Keef has since been sent to a rehabilitation centre for drug use and jailed for violating probation.
He had his first child when he was 16 and is the subject of paternity claims over several other children.
Chief Keef’s Instagram page includes photos with automatic guns and in a fight in a children’s play area.
In April, his cousin and fellow rapper Mario Hess, also known as Blood Money, was shot dead in Chicago.
His representatives have not yet commented on his eviction.
