Amid a flood of tributes, many are celebrating Prince's life by reposting his passport photo on social media.

The 57-year-old, real name Prince Rogers Nelson, was hospitalised after his jet made an emergency landing on Friday morning.

A spokesperson later said he was suffering from the flu.

In a statement, his publicist said: "It is with profound sadness that I am confirming that the legendary, iconic performer, Prince Rogers Nelson, has died at his Paisley Park residence this morning at the age of 57.
