Tushar Kanti Ghosh, journalist, died Calcutta 29 August, aged 95. Crusaded with Mahatma Gandhi for independence from Britain in the 1930s and 1940s, and was jailed for offending the British rulers. He was chief editor of Calcutta's leading English-language daily newspaper, Amrit Bazar Patrika, a Bengali daily, Jugantar, and The Northern Indian Patrika of Allahabad.
