Miss Irene James, educationalist, died 22 July, aged 82. Appointed Deputy Principal of Trinity College Carmarthen in 1957, she was responsible for developing the teaching training college as a co-educational institute. Known for her efforts to support voluntary church education both within the maintained system of education, and through youth organisations such as the Church in Wales's Cymru'r Groes (Youth Movement) initiative.
