Cardinal Joseph Cordeiro, priest, died Karachi 11 February, aged 76. Archbishop in Karachi since 1958; Secretary of the Conference of Bishops of Asia since 1972. Once considered as a possible candidate for Pope, he helped organise the Second Vatican Council in 1962-65.
