Born in the mid to late 80s? Prepare to feel old - Eminem’s daughter, Hailie Mathers, the once cute child who featured heavily in the rap artist’s music, has graduated school with highest honours.

The 18-year-old is leaving Chippewa Valley High School in Michigan with a grade point average above 3.9 – the equivalent of a high A.

She was given the prestigious Summa Cum Laude status for her high achievement, telling fellow pupils that her parents, Marshall and Kimberly Mathers, were her biggest influence “because they have pushed me to be the person I am and have given me all the support to achieve what I have.”

According to her school, Ms Mathers also achieved an Academic Excellence Award and a Department of Psychology Award, while balancing extra-curricular activities such as art club, volleyball, key club and the student council.

In a document showing the school’s highest performing pupils, Ms Mathers says she plans to attend Michigan State University to work towards a career in psychology or become an entrepreneur.

Hailie was voted Homecoming Queen in October last year, to the proud eyes of her parents who watched nearby.

A parent who was also in attendance told the Macomb Daily at the time: "Hailie came out with her mother Kim when she was introduced with all the other kids but her father watched from inside the school because he didn’t want to cause a scene -- he wanted Hailie to have her own moment."
