Michael Moore speech used by Donald Trump: Trump’s election is going to be the biggest f**k you In human history'

As one of his most vocal detractors, the documentary film-maker suddenly found his speech being used by Mr Trump to promote

When Michael Moore said a Donald Trump presidency was “going to be the biggest f**k you ever recorded in human history”, he did not expect that his declaration would not only be welcomed but promoted by the man himself.

The documentary film-maker inadvertently found himself helping to corral support for the embattled Republican nominee after Mr Trump shared a sound bite from a speech he delivered about his film Michael Moore in Trump Land with his Twitter followers.

Moore began: “It’s why every beaten-down, nameless, forgotten working stiff who used to be part of what was called the middle class loves Trump. He was the Malatov cocktail that they have been waiting for. The human hand grenade that they can legally throw into the system that stole their lives from them. […]

“They’ve lost their jobs, the banks foreclosed, next came the divorce and now the wife and kids are gone, the car’s been repoed. They haven't had a vacation in years, they’re stuck with the sh***y bronze plan where you can’t even get a f***ing Percocet. They’ve essentially lost everything they have except one thing […]: the right to vote. They might be penniless, they might be homeless, they might be f**ked over and f**ked up - it doesn't matter because it’s equalised on that day.

“On 8 November, the dispossessed will walk into the voting booth […] and put a big f**king X in the box next to the name of the man who has threatened to upend and overturn the very system that ruined their lives. Donald J. Trump.

“Trump’s election is going to be the biggest f**k you! In human history. It will feel good.”

Sharing the video on Twitter, Mr Trump added: “I agree. To all Americans, I see you and I hear you. I am your voice.”

Used in that context on his timeline, Moore’s words certainly seemed like a compelling endorsement of a Trump administration. Mr Trump's son was also quick to jump on the bandwagon, asking his followers to share it.

But he had actually been trying to explain why the disenchanted working classes are likely to choose Mr Trump as a protest vote in a similar way to the way some Britons voted for Brexit. Mr Trump’s campaign conveniently cut off the audio before he would go on to say: “It will feel good. For a day, or maybe a week. Possibly a month. And then. Like the Brits, who wanted to send a message, so they voted to leave Europe only to find out that if you vote to leave Europe you, actually have to leave Europe.

“And now they regret it. All the Ohioans, Pennsylvanians, Michiganders and Wisconsinites of Middle England, right, they all voted to leave and now they regret it.

“And over four million of them signed a petition to have a do-over, they want another election, but It's not going to happen. Because you used the ballot as an anger management tool. And now you're fucked. And the rest of Europe. They're like, Bye Felicia.”

Appearing on Fox News after his speech went viral among Trump supporters, he made his position crystal clear: “This is the most vile, disgusting candidate that’s ever run for office in this country.”
