The newest celebrity couple have announced their relationship in the most celebrity way imaginable - but unlike Kimye, Brangelina and Billary, this particular couple will struggle to find their own portmandeau.

Until now the 32-year-old X-Factor judge and 22-year-old boy band singer have kept quiet since rumours emerged that they were dating in December.

Hundreds of One Direction fans have taken to Twitter to express their frustration at the news, with some begrudging the English singer and television personality for dating someone ten years her junior.

One fan wrote: "I'll tweet about how much i hate cheryl until my fingers fall off lmao none of y'all can stop me so miss me".

The former Girls Aloud singer is currently still married to Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini but it was reported that they separated in 2015, though she has yet to make an official statement.
