From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Susanna Reid might be 45 but Justin Timberlake has declared she is a “super hot grandmother”. The veteran presenter was left lost for words after the singer offered a somewhat bittersweet compliment.
Nevertheless, the comment did not arise from nowhere - Reid performs the voice of the grandmother in Timberlake’s new film Trolls.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain via a video link-up alongside his co-star Anna Kendrick, Timberlake brandished a photo of Reid.
“Good morning Britain! Susanna, look you’re here with us,” he said. “You play my grandmother in Trolls and you look way too young.”
The 35-year-old musician then proceeded to move the photo in front of his face and declared: ““I have a super-hot grandmother.”
Reid was left appearing somewhat embarrassed, although she did quip: “I can retire now”.
Piers Morgan relished in teasing Reid about the incident, joking that Timberlake was “right in” her “target range”.
