Appearing on French nightly talk show Le Grand Journal on Friday, the 32-year-old actor appeared visibly dismayed after Ornella Fleury said she wanted to lure him into a sexual fantasy with his high-profile friends and then exclude him.
According to French news outlet BFMTV, their tense exchange prompted Hill to cancel the rest of his interviews while in France.
"It’s when I saw you get sodomised by a three-meter-tall demon in This Is the End that I told myself, 'Now that’s the man of my dreams!'" Fleury told The Wolf of Wall Street actor.
“And you? I hear you get sodomised pretty often,” Hill responded.
“Anyway, that’s why I have a sexual fantasy with you, Jonah,” Fleury continued, prompting the audience to laugh. “All I said is “sexual fantasy” and you guys laugh. Guess I don’t need to finish the joke!”
But things took a different turn after Fleury dropped her no-holds-barred punchline.
“My sexual fantasy would be that we’d meet up in a hotel room at night. We would chat, you’d make me laugh; you’d make me laugh a lot! And then all of a sudden, you’d bring your friends [Leonardo] DiCaprio and Brad Pitt … And then you’d go away!” she concluded.
After giving her an unimpressed thumbs up, Hill retorted: “I’m glad I came to this show to get ridiculed by a local weather girl - it's nice”.
Fleury has since apologised for the controversy in a self-deprecating video which explained she felt overfamiliar with the actor because of watching him in so many films.
“In fact Jonah, I really had the impression that I knew you, so last Friday I thought I was just messing around with a friend, but the reality is that we are not friends,” she said.
“No, the reality is that you two have two Oscar nominations, and I have two videos on my YouTube account. You have made films with Scorese and Tarantino and me, I have made an advert for Spontex [a company which makes cleaning products]”.
Hill was in France to promote War Dogs for the international junket at the Deauville Festival.
Update: After initial reports in French press that Hill had cancelled his engagements with French press, he went on to do a press conference at the Deauville film festival.
