The actor, who was born in San Diego, appeared in Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, Every Which Way But Loose, Any Which Way You Can and Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, among others.
He also notched up film credits in The Devil’s Rejects, Heaven’s Gate and Dillinger, as well as several different TV shows.
He passed away on 7 April of natural causes, Variety reports.
Lewis is survived by his wife Paula and their ten children.
