Fox Sports host Erin Andrews is seeking $75 million in damages after a man rigged a camera in her hotel room and posted videos of her changing clothes online.

Ms Andrews was stalked by Michael David Barrett, who fixed a camera to the peephole in her hotel room door in 2008, according to the Washington Post.

The current Fox College Football host is requesting damages for emotional distress and invasion of privacy from the Nashville Marriott hotel at Vanderbilt University, claiming the hotel was negligent when it allowed Mr Barrett to reserve the room next to hers and set up a camera.

Ms Andrews was working for ESPN at the time and was in Nashville for a football game when the videos were recorded and uploaded to the Internet.

Mr Barrett, who now lives in Oregon, as reported by the Tennessean, pleaded guilty to felony stalking and was sentenced to 30 months in prison.

ABC News reported that Mr Barrett, then 50 years old, reserved hotel rooms next to Ms Andrews in three cities and shot nude videos in Columbus, Ohio and Nashville.

Ms Andrews first filed her lawsuit four years ago and listed Marriott International as a defendant, however in January Tennessee judge Hamilton Gayden said the hotel company was not responsible for security at a local hotel.

The parent company of the local hotel, Barrett and Windsor Capital Group, is also being sued. The trial is reported to last about 10 days.
