Second only to #JeSuisEd and #DogsAtPollingStations, one of the biggest social media marvels of the general election was the phenomenon of #Milifandom.

That’s teenage superfans foaming at the Twitter feeds with adoration for the doe-eyed Labour leader and newly reappointed MP for Doncaster North.

This included the circulation of a number of steamy Photoshopped images of Miliband’s face on various chiselled forms, put to romantic music, or simply gazing off into the distance.

Imagine Milifandom founder and leader Abby dismay, therefore, as she watched the election results roll in, making it clearer and clearer just how accurate that exit poll appears to have been:

Nor her disappointment at speculation he could be set to resign as leader imminently:

But despite her own disappointment, she pledges to continue her campaign to honour Ed – and even hinted at her own future in politics:
