Donald Trump unsurprisingly took centre stage at the Fox News Republican debate overnight, answering most questions like a true politician with bizarre, rambling non-answers. Here are five of the outspoken business magnate’s more memorable (and controversial) non-answers from the evening:
When asked why he makes disparaging and demeaning comments about women:
“I don't frankly, have time for political correctness”
When asked where he found his evidence for his claims about Mexican immigrants:
“Our politicians are stupid. And the Mexican government is much smarter, much sharper, much more cunning and they send the bad ones over because they don’t wanna pay for them, they don’t wanna take care of them, why should they when the stupid leaders of the United States are doing it for them?”
When asked to try and explain his position on Mexico and immigration:
“I don’t mind having a big, beautiful door on that wall — so people can come into this country [legally].”
When asked for his opinion on President Obama:
“I would say he’s incompetent but I don’t want to do that because that’s not nice.”
When asked to try and explain the Iran nuclear deal:
"If Iran was a stock, you folks should go out and buy it right now. You'll quadruple.”
