From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.David Beckham has got a lot of tattoos - over 40, in fact - and his designs have been copied by hipsters everywhere from Shoreditch to Sunderland.
But Becks’ latest tattoo is much more unique - he got his daughter Harper to doodle a stick figure of a girl and got it tattooed onto his hand.
He shared the picture on Instagram, with wife Victoria also showing off their daughter’s handiwork.
His sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz also penned the phrase 'we love you daddy', which Becks had tattooed onto his rib.
Beckham has previously talked about the ‘meaning’ behind some of his tattoos, saying they all relate to the important people in his life.
He had the number ’99’ tattooed onto one of his pinkie fingers in reference to 1999, which he said was “one of the happiest years of my life”, and sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz all have their names tattooed on his body.
His neck already features two tributes to Harper - her name is etched onto the side of his neck and, just above it, the slightly bizarre phrase ‘Pretty Lady’.
Naturally the reaction was mixed, with one critic saying "She's s*** at drawing in my opinion".
