Dane Bowers hit his ex-fiancee and grabbed her throat in a row over glitter, a court has been told.
Croydon Magistrates' Court was told that Bowers lashed out at Sophie Cahill after she asked why he had come home with glitter on his face after being out all night.
He allegedly swore at her, grabbed her and pulled her hair. Cahill says she was left with a bloody nose and several bruises.
Bowers denies one count of assault by beating.
The court heard how the couple had split up but moved in with Bowers’ parents in Croydon. Cahill said she went to wake Bowers when she noticed glitter on his face.
She questioned him about it, she said, because she had caught him in bed with somebody previously and they had trust issues.
“We said that if we are still living under the same roof we would not do anything to disrespect each other and do anything with other people.
“He had been out all night and obviously I jumped to conclusions because of other things he has done in the past.”
The trial continues.
