BUCKINGHAM PALACE
4 August: His Excellency Mr Joseph K. arap Ruto was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Commission as High Commissioner for the Republic of Kenya in London.
His Excellency was accompanied by the following members of the High Commission:
Mr AO Oyiolo (First Secretary), Colonel FR Nthiggah (Defence Adviser), Miss JV Awuor (Second Secretary I), Mr JK Kandie (Legal Officer), Mr DKA Kikaya (Second Secretary II), Mr PS Wamoto (Second Secretary III) and Mr SK Maina (Third Secretary).
Mrs Ruto was also received by Her Majesty.
Sir David Gillmore (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present and the Household in Waiting were in attendance.
The Earl of Mansfield and Mansfield (First Crown Estate Commissioner) was received by The Queen.
CLARENCE HOUSE
4 August: Today is the Anniversary of the Birthday of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.
ROYAL ENGAGEMENTS
The Queen embarks on HMY Britannia at Southampton to take a cruise in the Western Isles; and attends the recording of a special Songs of Praise programme to celebrate the 175th Anniversary of the British Sailors' Society at Southampton. Princess Margaret, Patron, visits the National Pony Society Centenary Show at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern, Worcestershire.
Changing of the Guard
The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 1st Battalion the King's Regiment mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the King's Regiment.
