BUCKINGHAM PALACE

31 July: The Duke of York, Colonel- in-Chief, today visited the 7th and 8th Battalions, Royal Irish Regiment, Northern Ireland.

Captain Neil Blair RN and Major Joyce Gillison were in attendance.

2 August: The Prince Edward, Patron, Ocean Youth Club, this evening attended a Reception at the Sir Max Aitken Museum, the Prospect, Cowes, Isle of Wight.

2 August: The Princess Royal, Patron, 32nd International Congress of Physiological Sciences, this morning attended the Congress at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre, Glasgow University, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for the City of Glasgow (Mr Robert Innes, the Right Hon the Lord Provost).

Mrs David Bowes Lyon was in attendance.

Her Royal Highness, President, Royal Yachting Association, this afternoon attended a meeting of the Council on board HMY Britannia, Cowes, Isle of Wight.

BALMORAL CASTLE

2 August: The Prince of Wales left Royal Air Force Lyneham this morning for a visit to France.

His Royal Highness this afternoon attended the opening day of The Prince of Wales's Institute of Architecture Summer School in Chinon.

Mr Stephen Lamport was in attendance.

ROYAL ENGAGEMENTS

The Queen attends a Parade to mark the 200th Anniversary of the Royal Horse Artillery at Woolwich, and afterwards attends a reception. The Princess Royal, Chief Commandant, Women's Royal Naval Service, visits Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose, Helston, Cornwall.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 1st Battalion Irish Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Coldstream Guards.

Bands playing in the Royal Parks

St James's Park, Ladies' Palm Court Orchestra, 12.30pm-2pm, 5.30pm-7pm.
