31 May: The Duke of Edinburgh today attended Evensong and an Honorary Degree Ceremony in St Paul's Cathedral, London EC4.

Major Charles Richards was in attendance.

Lady Dugdale has succeeded the Hon Mary Morrison as Lady-in-Waiting to The Queen.

31 May: The Prince Edward, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, today gave a Luncheon at Buckingham Palace.

His Royal Highness, Chairman, The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Pegasus Project, this evening held a meeting at Buckingham Palace.

CLARENCE HOUSE

31 May: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother this morning visited the League of Remembrance to mark its 80th Anniversary.

Dame Frances Campbell-Preston and Major Sir Ralph Anstruther Bt were in attendance.

Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother was present this afternoon at a Service in the Church of St Martin-in-the-Fields to mark the participation of South African Servicemen in the Normandy invasion. Her Majesty subsequently attended a Reception given at South Africa House.

Dame Frances Campbell-Preston, Sir Alastair Aird and Major Colin Burgess were in attendance.

ST JAMES'S PALACE

31 May: The Prince of Wales, Patron, Royal Society for Nature Conservation, this evening gave a Reception at Highgrove House, Tetbury, Gloucestershire.

KENSINGTON PALACE

31 May: The Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon today opened Uckfield Community Hospital.

Her Royal Highness was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for East Sussex (Admiral Sir Lindsay Bryson).

Lady Aird was in attendance.

31 May: The Duke of Gloucester, President, NABC - Clubs for Young People, presented the Awards at the finish of the One Hundred Mile Canoe Test at Worcester and was received by Lieutenant-Colonel Kenneth Allen (Deputy- Lieutenant of Hereford and Worcester).

Major Nicholas Barne was in attendance.

YORK HOUSE

31 May: The Duke of Kent this morning opened the Suffolk Probation Service Headquarters, Foundation House, Foundation Street, Ipswich, Suffolk, and was met on arrival by Her Majesty's Lord- Lieutenant for Suffolk (the Right Honourable the Lord Belstead).

His Royal Highness, President, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, this afternoon attended a Lifeboat Naming Ceremony, Aldeburgh, Suffolk.

Mr Nicolas Adamson was in attendance.

The Duchess of Kent, Patron, the Not Forgotton Association this afternoon received Major-General Sir Christopher Airy, Chairman.

ROYAL ENGAGEMENTS

The Duke of Edinburgh attends a reception for Young Engineers at St James's Palace. Princess Margaret, President, The Guide Association, gives a reception for Queen's Guides at Kensington Palace. The Duke and The Duchess of Kent attend a concert as part of the Festival of Bahia, Royal Albert Hall, London SW7. The Duchess of Kent delivers the opening speech at the fourth International Primary Health Care Conference, Kensington Town Hall, London W8.

Buckingham Palace

The Queen's Gallery at Buckingham Palace opens 10am-5pm, last admission 4.30pm. The Royal Mews opens 12pm-4pm, last admission 3.30pm.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Grenadier Guards.

Windsor Castle

The Precincts and State Apartments at Windsor Castle open 10am-6pm.
