11 February: His Excellency Mr Richard Smith and Mrs Smith were received in farewell audience by The Queen and took leave upon His Excellency relinquishing his appointment as High Commissioner for the Commonwealth of Australia in London.
His Excellency Dr Georg Hennig was received in audience by Her Majesty and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary from the Republic of Austria to the Court of St James's.
His Excellency was accompanied by the following members of the Embassy:
Brigadier Hans-Rudiger Sulzgruber (Defence Attache); Dr Herbert Krauss (Minister Counsellor); Dr Peter Marginter (Cultural Counsellor); Dr Gerhard Kernthaler (Commercial Counsellor); Dr Georg Heindl (Second Secretary); Herr Frank Zeller (Second Secretary); Frau Ulla Krauss-Nussbaumer (Cultural Attache); and Herr Gerhard Widor (Counsellor, Consular).
Mrs Hennig was also received by The Queen.
Sir David Gillmore (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present and the Household-in-Waiting were in attendance.
Mr Ian Sloane was received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon his appointment as Her Majesty's Ambassador to Mongolia.
Mrs Sloane was also received by Her Majesty.
Mr Justice Higgins was received by The Queen upon his appointment as a Justice of the High Court in Northern Ireland when Her Majesty conferred upon him the honour of Knighthood and invested him with the Insignia of a Knight Bachelor.
Lieutenant-Colonel Malcolm Ross was received by The Queen when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Commander of the Royal Victorian
Order.
Lieutenant-Colonel Seymour Gilbart-Denham was received by The Queen when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Commander of the Royal Victoria Order.
Mr Peter Hartley was received by The Queen when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order.
The Duke of Edinburgh today visited Northern Ireland.
Brigadier Miles Hunt-Davis was in attendance.
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by Mr John Lowther (Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Northamptonshire) at the Memorial Service for Lieutenant-Colonel John Chandos-Pole (formerly Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Northamptonshire) which was held in All Saint's Church, Northampton, today.
Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester was represented by Mrs Michael Harvey.
The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were represented by Major Nicholas Barne.
11 February: The Prince Edward, Chairman, The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Special Projects Group, this evening gave a Dinner at Buckingham Palace at the conclusion of the 1993 Summer Challenge.

11 February: The Prince of Wales arrived at Gatwick Airport, London, this afternoon from New Zealand.
Commander Richard Aylard RN, Commander Robert Fraser RN and Miss Sandra Henney were in attendance.
