BUCKINGHAM PALACE

13 August: The Queen and The Duke of Edinbugh left Heathrow Airport, London, today to visit Canada.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness were received at the airport by the Earl of Airlie KT (Lord Chamberlain), Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Field Marshal the Lord Bramall KG), Mr Serge April (Acting High Commissioner for Canada), Brigadier General Darrell Dean (Commander, Canadian Defence Liaison Staff) and Mr Michael Roberts (Managing Director, Heathrow Airport).

The following are in attendance:

The Lady Farnham, the Lady Susan Hussey, the Right Honourable Sir Robert Fellowes,

Major-General Gaston Cloutier, Sir Kenneth Scott, Mr Charles Anson, Surgeon Captain David Swain, Air Commodore the Honourable Timothy Elworthy, Lieutenant-Colonel Paul Dionne and Sir Brian McGrath.

13 August: The Duke of York left Heathrow Airport, London, this afternoon for Nice, France.

13 August: The Prince Edward, President, the Commonealth Games Federation, left Heathrow Airport, London, this afternoon for Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.

Buckingham Palace

The State Apartments at Buckingham Palace open between 9.30am and 4.30pm. The Queen's Gallery opens between 10am and 5pm, and last admission is at 4.30pm.

Windsor Castle

The Precincts and State Apartments at Windsor Castle open between 10am and 6pm.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am.

Bands playing in the Royal Parks

St James's Park, Royal Regiment Wales Territorial Army Band, 12.30pm-2pm, 5.30pm-7pm.
