23 April: The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by Mr Timothy Brooks (Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Leicestershire) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Colonel Sir Andrew Martin (formerly Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Leicestershire) which was held in Leicester Cathedral this morning.

The Prince of Wales was represented by Lieutenant-Colonel Sir John Miller.

The Princess Royal was represented by Major-General Jack Reynolds.

Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester and The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were represented by Major Nicholas Barne.

The Duke and Duchess of Kent were represented by Captain Alexander Tetley.

24 April: Mr Cyril Davidson was received by The Queen when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order.

BUCKINGHAM PALACE

24 April: The Princess Royal, President, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, accompanied by Commander Timothy Laurence RN, this evening attended the Bafta Awards Ceremony at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, Catherine Street, London WC2.

ST JAMES'S PALACE

24 April: The Prince of Wales this afternoon attended the Anzac Day Parade and Memorial Service at Leighterton and was received by the Lord Vestey (Deputy Lieutenant of Gloucestershire).

Mr Matthew Butler was in attendance.

KENSINGTON PALACE

24 April: The Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, President, the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, was present this evening at the Children's Variety Performance held at the Palladium Theatre, London W1.

The Countess Alexander of Tunis was in attendance.

YORK HOUSE

24 April: The Duchess of Kent this morning took the Salute at The Queen's aScouts Parade and later attended the National Scout Service, St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, Windsor, Berkshire.

Mrs Julian Tomkins was in attendance.

ROYAL ENGAGEMENTS

The Queen visits the new Astley Club in Newmarket and the Animal Health Trust at Lanwades Park, Newmarket, Suffolk. The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince's Trust, attends a Barbra Streisand Concert at Wembley Arena, London NW10. The Princess Royal, Honorary Member, the Jockey Club, attends a luncheon at the Jockey Club Rooms, Newmarket, Suffolk; as President, Animal Health Trust, receives the Queen, Patron of the Trust, at Lanwades Park, Newmarket; and as Patron, British Executive Service Overseas, attends a fund-raising concert at the Shell Centre, London SE1.

The Queen's Gallery

The Queen's Gallery opens between 10am and 5pm, and last admission is at 4.30pm.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 2nd Battalion Grenadier Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Irish Guards.
