5 April: By command of The Queen, the Baroness Trumpington (Baroness-in-Waiting) was present at Heathrow Airport, London, this afternoon upon the Departure of The Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon for the United States of America and bade farewell to Her Royal Highness on behalf of Her Majesty.
Mrs Robert de Pass has succeeded Lady Abel Smith as Lady- in-Waiting to The Queen.
KENSINGTON PALACE
5 April: The Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon left Heathrow Airport, London, this afternoon for a visit to the United States of America.
Her Royal Highness was received at the Airport by Mr Timothy Deal (Minister, Embassy of the United States of America), Mr Robin Baxendale (Manager, Special Facilities, Heathrow Airport Limited) and Mr John Watson (Director of Sales, British Airways).
Mrs Jane Stevens is in
attendance.
ROYAL ENGAGEMENTS
The Duke of York visits Los Angeles and attends the American Air Museum in Britain Gala Dinner 1994. The Duke of Kent officially opens the X-Ray Facility and Scanner, Scarborough Hospital; opens the British Red Cross Scarborough Centre; and opens an extension to McCain Foods (GB) Limited, Havershill, Eastfield, Scarborough.
Buckingham Palace
The Queen's Gallery at Buckingham Palace opens between 10am and 5pm, and last admission is at 4.30pm. The Royal Mews opens between 12pm and 4pm, and last admission is at 3.30pm.
Changing of the Guard
The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 1st Battalion The King's Regiment mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am.
