Celebrity Big Brother: Christopher Biggins to visit Auschwitz after removal from CBB house

The actor was evicted from the house by producers after a number of instances where he used 'unacceptable language'

Christopher Biggins has said he will visit Auschwitz this year after being removed from the Celebrity Big Brother house over his use of “unacceptable language”.

On Saturday night, viewers watched Big Brother tell Biggins he would be leaving the show, citing his “continued use of unacceptable language in the house which is capable of causing widespread offence”. Producers listed three occasions including one which occurred during a conversation with former X factor contestant Katie Waissel after she said she was not in the house to represent the Jewish community. “Your comment was plainly capable of causing offence to Katie and the viewing public,” Big Brother told Biggins.

Following his exit, Biggins told the Sun he had apologised to Waissel and CBB for the comment which was not aired on the programme.

Biggins now says he will travel to Krakow in October and visit the Auschwitz concentration camp where over a million people were murdered by the Nazi regime during the Second World War.

“I am going there. It will be my first time,” he told the Sun. “I know it’s going to be horrible. I know it’s going to be ghastly. I know it’s going to be emotional.”

The 67-year old said he and his partner Neil had already discussed making the trip before he entered the Big Brother house.

“We’re going for five days in October. I’m really looking forward to it. Especially now after this incident,” he said. “It’s strange that I had already decided to experience it myself.”

On Sunday, Biggins said it did not occur to him a "joke" he made to Waissel was referring to Nazi concentration camps and reiterated his apology: "I am mortified by what's happened, really mortified. Most of my friends, in fact, are Jewish. I apologised to Big Brother and Katie."

The other comments which led to Biggins’ exit from the house were about bisexuality. In one conversation, he said: “I think the worst kind though are bisexuals, what it is are people not wanting to admit they are gay”. On the day of his exit, he also discussed an apparent conspiracy theory about the spread of Aids with Mob Wives star Renee Graziano where he called it a "bisexual disease".
