Brad Pitt attacker Vitalii Sediuk refuses to say sorry: 'He has everything you can imagine. And I'm cleaning toilets?'

The former Ukrainian TV presenter said he only meant to hug Pitt at a film premiere last month

Vitalii Sediuk, the man who attacked Brad Pitt at a film premiere last month, has refused to apologise for his actions.

The former Ukrainian TV presenter, who is currently undertaking 20 days of community service in Griffith Park in Los Angeles, told The Hollywood Reporter he has no sympathy for the A-list star.

“I can't feel sorry for Brad Pitt. He has everything you can imagine. And I'm cleaning toilets? Sorry, but excuse me,” Sediuk said.

But despite his apparent show of bitterness, he still appears to be a fan of the Inglorious Basterds actor, sporting a T-shirt with a picture of a youthful, sun-kissed, open-shirted Pitt while carrying out his work.

Sediuk attacked the actor last month at the premiere of Maleficent, which stars Pitt’s partner Angelina Jolie. He lunged at the 50-year-old and punched him in the face, breaking his designer sunglasses.

However he told The Hollywood Reporter that he was only trying to hug Pitt and never struck him.

And referring to the Cannes Film Festival , when he dived under America Ferrera’s dress on the red carpet, Sediuk said: “Actually I was going for Cate Blanchett.” He claimed that, having only seen the two actresses from behind, he assumed Ms Blanchett must be the woman wearing the “bigger dress”.

He said: “The police asked me, 'Did you see anything?' And I said, 'No, because the dress was many layers.' It would have been a sexual harassment [charge].”

Following the Pitt incident, Sediuk pleaded no contest to battery and unlawful activity at a sporting or entertainment event and has since been sentenced to three years’ probation - including 20 days community service - and instructed to attend a year's psychological counselling.

Sediuk was also ordered to stay 500 yards (457 metres) away from all celebrity events, including awards and premieres, and has been banned from being near Pitt and Jolie.
