From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.B.o.B is putting forward his case that the Earth is flat in a series of bizarre tweets claiming the world has been “tremendously deceived” and urging everyone to "grow up" and realise it.
The rapper launched a Twitter rant overnight about the Earth's shape and suggestions of a cover-up, tweeting screenshots of text and images purporting to show the Earth could not be round.
Whether B.o.B actually believes this to be true or is just expertly trolling the world is unclear, especially with “once you go flat, you never go back" tweets. Regardless, he has managed to attract everyone’s attention with claims disputing the basic science everyone learns as a child, such as:
His provocative tweets captured the attention of celebrity astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, who wasted no time in pointing out a few holes in his theory.
Their exchange quickly descended into the rap battle no-one saw coming after B.o.B, upset by Tyson’s scientific reasoning, dropped ‘Flatline feat. Neil Tyson’, with lyrics such as: “Aye, Neil Tyson need to loosen up his vest/ They’ll probably write that man one hell of a check.”
B.o.B wasn't finished there, though.
