Mystery of missing store manager

Police were yesterday investigating the disappearance of a supermarket manager who went missing at the same time as several thousand pounds in takings and staff wages.

Staff at KwikSave in Luton, Bedfordshire, discovered Colin Breslin's car with its doors unlocked and the keys in the ignition. The money was found to be missing from the store's safe. A police spokesman said it was not yet known what had happened to Mr Breslin, 29, from Barton, near Luton, but officers were pursuing a number of lines of inquiry, including the possibility of kidnap.
