Murder accomplice jailed
A taxi driver was jailed for five years yesterday for his part in the contract killing of Donald Urquhart, a millionaire businessman who was gunned down in the West End of London.
Mr Urquhart, 55, was shot three times in the head as he went out to dinner with his girlfriend. Graeme West, 33, a bankrupt builder from Thornton Heath, south London - who is serving life for the murder - was paid £20,000 to kill him .
Yesterday Geoffrey Heath, 36, from Rotherham, South Yorkshire, who was paid £2,000 to help plan the "hit" was jailed for five years at the Old Bailey after admitting conspiracy to murder. He was described as a"reluctant accomplice" who had tried to pay back the money.
Police think the man who ordered the killing had fallen out with Mr Urquhart over a deal. A man has been interviewed but not charged. Police think three other men were involved and inquiries are continuing.
