The former Ulster Unionist leader Sir James Molyneaux is to quit Parliament at the general election. He has been an MP since 1970. His Lagan Valley constituency was told last night.
It had been expected that he would not continue as an MP for long after he resigned as UUP leader last year. He was replaced by David Trimble.
