The show helped ITV1 to its highest Sunday night audience this year when it launched last night, overnight estimates reveal.
The blockbuster evening also saw The X Factor pull in one of its biggest ever audiences. Viewing peaked at 17.7 million during last night's show, which saw Aiden Grimshaw axed - a feat bettered only once before when 19.1 million tuned in during last year's final.
I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! had a peak audience of 12.5 million viewers for the start of its tenth series - up a huge 1.8 million on last year's opener. The show had an average of 11.2 million, which is also a new record for the opening show.
And The X Factor - which featured performances from Take That, Westlife and JLS - had an average 14.5 million viewers.
The two shows together helped ITV1 achieve its best Sunday night ratings of the year with a peak time average of 11.3 million viewers between 7pm and 10.30pm.
It comes on the back of Saturday's edition of The X Factor which had 13.5 million viewers, which ITV claimed was its highest ever average audience for a Saturday edition of the show.
