Your support makes all the difference.You'd think Gabby Logan would know this after so many years as a sports presenter, but in the last week she has learned a hard lesson: nobody likes a winner, especially if she's a woman. Gabby made the schoolgirl error of entering a dance competition, the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, with the barely concealed intention of trying to win. And as any Big Brother viewer knows, there is nothing worse than having a game plan – particularly if it involves making an effort and doing some work. Really, that's cheating.
Gabby was kicked out ahead of her fellow contestant, GMTV's Kate Garraway, who is rubbish at dancing but makes up for it by having what is called a personality. Gabby says she is "heartbroken". Judge Len Goodman calls it "a terrible miscarriage of justice". Judges are said to be considering their contracts and "viewers... talking of a big switch-off".
Meanwhile, Kate Garraway continues to show how it should be done: self-deprecate, self-deprecate, and never show you care. "I don't know why people vote the way they do... She definitely wanted to go all the way and win it. But I think Gabby's a brilliant dancer." Yes, that try-hard bitch definitely deserved to go.
