Media Lunch: Louise Chunn, editor, Psychologies
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The venue: Truc Vert, a little French place around the corner from the Psychologies office. It looks like a little slice of Paris in Mayfair. It's not terribly well known, so I don't think everyone's bored with it yet.
The company: Just this week I took a newspaper columnist there.
The conversation: We discussed the current Psychologies campaign called "Be Life Curious". We've had an ad campaign in print and on the Tube, which fitted in well with our October issue which had Julia Roberts on the cover and talking about Eat Pray Love. The film's idea of reaching outside your normal life wrapped in brilliantly with the campaign.
On the menu: I had a delicious warm chicken salad and my guest had sardines. We had sparkling elderflower juice to drink, as it was early in the week. Had it been a Friday I would have allowed myself a glass of sauvignon blanc.
Come here often? I go there for work a lot; the staff are charming and it's quick. I don't go for lunches nearly as much as I have done in other jobs I've done. We're really about what we produce rather than the smoke and mirrors of a lot of magazine journalism.
Truc Vert, 42 North Audley Street, London W1
