A former Miss Wales broke down in tears on television yesterday as she compared her situation to that of the married Premier League footballer who served her with an injunction preventing her from discussing their affair.

Imogen Thomas, 28, said she had never had any intention of identifying the player but was angry he had remained anonymous while her role in the affair had been made public. She said that, unlike the footballer, she didn't have the financial resources to take out her own injunction.

She said: "I didn't have £50,000 to get an injunction. I have been thrown to the lions and [told to] deal with it. I can't deal with it. I am coping with a lot of stress."
