Not before time, Debrett's drops stars of yesteryear
Years after disappearing from the public consciousness, Noel Edmonds and Dave Lee Travis have been dropped as "people of today".
Debrett's, arbiter of Britons who matter, has replaced the veteran broadcasters with their Radio 1 successors Tim Westwood and Mark and Lard in the 16th annual edition of its People of Today biographical reference book, which claims to provide a record of "those who are contributing something of real and lasting value to modern British society".
Zoe Gullen, the co-editor, said Debrett's had assessed who was at the top of the broadcasting profession. She said: "Tim Westwood has the only national rap show in the UK."
