Siemens Nixdorf has appointed Michael Garrett as a senior consultant for its telecommunications line of business. He will concentrate on computer telephony integration, network and systems management and data warehousing. Garrett previously had been a consultant for the professional services arm of Siemens Pyramid.

Arthur Vonchek has been promoted to the post of vice-president for northern Europe at Manugistics. He was previously regional director of the company's northern European operations.

Mark Frost (below left) has been appointed head of production at America Online. He will lead the 30-strong team responsible for designing, shaping and editing content on AOL. Previously, Frost was editor-in-chief of The Net and a senior editor of MacUser. He has also done Web site design consultancy work for clients such as Disney and Netscape.

Chris Batterham has been promoted to managing director of UUNET in continental Europe, while Pat Chapman-Pincher has been appointed managing director of UUNET for the UK. She was formerly commercial operations director of MFS International.
