AFTER failing to win a licence first time round, VIVA radio, which promised us talk and music for women, landed a licence for the London area in last Friday's franchise allocations. Katy Turner, currently sales and marketing director for JFM (the former Jazz FM), will oversee the launch of the station next spring.
Aimed at 25-44 year old women, it will, she says, not be as targeted as a women's magazine otherwise listeners feel patronised. 'You don't preach women's radio,' she says.
