Corrigan, The Independent's Associate Sports Editor, was presented with his award at a dinner at City Hall, Cardiff. Corrigan, 34, has been with The Independent for eight years and covers a wide range of sports, including rugby union, golf and football. He was part of our reporting team at last year's Rugby World Cup.
