The Scotsman Leon Jackson came out victorious in a "nation versus nation" X Factor final, scooping a 1m recording contract. Jackson now has a clear run for the Christmas Number One spot after his victory on the ITV1 talent show last night.
The festive season allowed producers to add glitter to the competition, with Simon Cowell in therole as the show's villain.
The final also saw bookies' favourite Rhydian Roberts representing Wales and duo Same Difference representing England.
Ladbrokes spokesman Nick Weinberg said: "Leon's win is the biggest shock in the history of reality TV betting."
