A new quiz show from the producers of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? has been commissioned by ITV, in the hope of repeating its ratings success.

A new quiz show from the producers of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? has been commissioned by ITV, in the hope of repeating its ratings success.

The People Versus will be Britain's first quiz in which contestants could win more than a million pounds. They will choose their own subjects and answer questions put by viewers, either by phone or e-mail.

Each question will be worth £5,000 and contestants will, in theory, be able to win an unlimited amount of money as they keep answering questions until they get a wrong answer. If a contestant trips up, the questioner will take their place.

No presenter has yet been found for The People Versus, but celebrity hosts are expected to be lining up to secure the job of host.
