"Summer Solstice" is the most talked about topic on Twitter on the morning of June 21.

"Happy Solstice!" say Twitter users celebrating the beginning of summer in the northern hemisphere.

Second on the trending topics list is "Laker Parade." American NBA team, the Los Angeles Lakers, will celebrate last week's NBA Finals win by hosting a celebratory parade on Monday, June 21.

The name of "kiss-and-tell hip hop groupie" Kat Stacks is back in the charts at number three; the prompting topic "#whenwasitokay" is new at number four, and "Wimbledon" is in number six as the first day schedule for the tennis tournament is announced.

The World Cup-related terms "#worldcup" and "Vuvuzela" remain unchanged in fifth and ninth positions respectively.

Microbloggers are anxiously awaiting the release of Apple's newest iPhone, iPad and iPod operating system, iOS 4. iOS 4 is due to be released on iTunes on June 21. Talk about Apple iOS devices and the new OS has pushed "iOS4" and "iOS" into seventh and eighth place.

Canadian TV channel Much Music's annual video awards show took place over the weekend. Twitter users are congratulating winners of the Much Music Video Awards (MMVA) this morning, propelling "MMVA" into tenth place on Twitter's trending topics.
