The majority of searches are originating from Ireland and the UK as fans look for more information about the former Boyzone singer.
The 33 year old was on holiday in Majorca with his partner when he passed away on October 10. Results from the autopsy show that Gately died from "natural causes" despite reports that traces of cannabis were found in his urine.
Stephen Gately's mother, Margaret Gately, disclosed to her lawyer that she believes her son's premature death was due to an undiagnosed heart condition and is quoted as telling him, "As soon as I heard he had died I knew it was a heart problem."
A funeral for the former Boyzone singer will be held on Saturday October 17 in Dublin.
Searches for the Nobel Peace Prize have risen in popularity after President Barack Obama became the Nobel Peace Prize laureate on October 9 "for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples".
