This year's E3 event was held from June 14 to 17 and saw the unveiling of Microsoft's controller-free gaming device (Microsoft Kinect) and Nintendo's 3D portable gaming device (the 3DS), while Sony announced a release date and pricing for its motion-sensing controller, the Playstation Move.
World Cup-related terms continue to rise in popularity as soccer fans search for match results and team information. "Vuvuzela," the name of the blowing horns used by fans to cheer on their team, is in third place, "World Cup Results" is in fourth place, "Brazil" is in eighth place and "BBC Sport" is in ninth place.
German public-service TV channel "ZDF" ("Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen" in German or "Second German Television" in English) is in fifth place on the charts.
Italian weather forecast website "meteo.it" is in sixth place. In seventh place is the name of American pop singer "Miley Cyrus". Searches for her name have increased by more than 100 percent over the week after the singer confessed, "I'm not trying to be 'slutty'" in a recent interview about her forthcoming album and then proceeded to give a "racy performance" at the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto, Canada over the weekend.
Rumors surrounding American actress Megan Fox have sent people searching for her name on Google this week. New pictures of the star have the tabloids wondering if she went under the knife, while a second engagement to her partner Brian Austin Green sparked rumors saying she would "wait years" before marrying.
