Watch as President Joe Biden was forced to pull out of the 2024 UnidosUS Annual Conference in Las Vegas on Wednesday (17 July) after testing positive for Covid-19.
Biden was expected to announce that from 19 August, certain US citizens’ spouses without legal status can begin applying for permanent residency and eventually citizenship without having to first depart the country.
However, an announcement was made at around 3pm, stating Biden would no longer attend the event after contracting Covid.
A conference spokeswoman said: “He needs to take the precautions that have been recommended and he did not want to put anyone at risk.
“He said to ‘tell my folks that we are not going to get rid of him that quickly’, but he will be with us in the future.”
