Matron wins pounds 5,500

A nursing home was found guilty of sex discrimination for dismissing their matron after she was admitted to hospital for a hysterectomy. Barbara Bridgeman, who worked at the Girlington Nursing Home, was awarded pounds 5,500 by an industrial tribunal in Leeds.
