A hospital which was at the centre of a political row after refusing to admit non-emergency patients aged over 75 said the restriction would be lifted shortly.
Hillingdon Health Authority and Hillingdon Council Social Services in west London said they were opening an additional 30 beds in the next two to three weeks in nursing homes in the borough, to accommodate elderly patients who were "blocking" beds at Hillingdon Hospital.
