NICK FALDO'S disappointing form in the US Masters golf tournament continued yesterday when he had a third round of 79, following rounds of 71 and 76, to leave him way down the field.

Manchester United returned to the top of the Premier League when, after trailing at home to Sheffield Wednesday, two late goals by their captain Steve Bruce gave them a 2-1 win. United's rivals Aston Villa could only draw 0-0 at home to Coventry.

The Frenchman Alain Prost will be in pole position for today's European Grand Prix at Donington Park in Leicestershire.
