The chairman of Blackpool Gladiators, Allan Sherratt, is in hospital recovering from a heart attack. Sherratt has fought for the club to be reinstated in the Rugby League, from which it was demoted in 1993.

Swinton have signed the former Warrington, Widnes and Great Britain forward, Paul Hulme, who was released this winter.
