Racing: Trainer talk
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Clive Brittain: "We've a top jockey and a horse in form, and he has a very good chance. People forget Air Express won two Classics because they were in Germany and Italy, but you try to go to Germany and win a race and you'll need an A1 horse."
Peter Chapple-Hyam: "Revoque had a virus and muscular trouble after his disappointing run in the Irish 2,000 Guineas, but we were delighted with him at Doncaster after he'd taken the sting out of Bahhare."
Simon Crisford for Saeed bin Suroor: "Allied Forces has been in good form since his sixth in the Arlington Million and shouldn't be inconvenienced by the drop back to a mile."
John Dunlop: "I've been happy with Bahhare's progress since Doncaster. His action is good and I'm very pleased with his condition."
Fulke Johnson Houghton: "Centre Stalls has got a very good chance. We've got only a little to make up on Allied Forces and there are question marks about the three-year-olds. So far, when they've met the older horses they haven't done well."
Mark Johnston: "I'm a little concerned that Bijou D'Inde is not at his best racing weight, but he should come on for his run in France. He won the St James's Palace Stakes over this course and distance last season. This year's Classic generation doesn't appear as good as last year's."
Michael Stoute: ``Entrepreneur had been a long time away since the Derby,'' the trainer said after the colt was given a change of scenery with an Ascot gallop 10 days ago. ``But he's done plenty of work and I'm happy with what he's done.''
Geoff Wragg: ``She's had an `on' day,'' the trainer said after Rebecca Sharp's narrow August defeat at Deauville. Last time the filly failed to show the same dash when seventh at Longchamp.
